In five days we start our journey to Haiti. Cosmin, myself and three medical students from Loma Linda University are traveling together. Our route is: red eye to Atlanta, flight to Santo Domingo Sunday morning, bus to Port-au-Prince Monday morning. For the first time we’ll be shooting video on a dslr, the Canon 7d, it’s very exciting. We’ll also be using a Panasonic HPX-170 and a small AVCHD camera (if we need it). So far our biggest challenge is figuring out what food and now much to bring. I’ve shot in a few developing countries before, but this is the first time we’ll have to be pretty much completely self-sufficient. There’s a possibility that there will be some food for us at the hospital, but we want to take up as little resources as possible. We’ll try and keep this blog updated as much as possible with photos and video as long as we can scrounge enough bandwidth.
