The Principal

We talked to Armand today he was the principal of a school before it was demolished in the earthquake. The school was full but somehow all 300 plus students were able to get out before it came crashing down, Armand was almost crushed by a wall. His house is gone too, now his family is living in a tent. Armand went to Brooklyn College and now has no job, nowhere to go, and nothing to do. He’s worried about what will happen to his family when it starts to rain. From all appearances it seems as though Armand was better off than most Haitians before the earthquake. We’re thinking about hiring him as our interpreter for a day.
